Over 400 guests attended the exhibition opening reception for 'Portraits', an exhibition celebrating Ana Tzarev's many unique encounters with individual people in vastly different parts of the world. Tzarev's serious interest in cultural history as well as daily life enabled her to meet numerous local religious leaders, merchants, performance artists and educators, among others. She was deeply touched by these remarkable people and inspired to create the portraits. Also on view were photographer Jonathan Wallen's exhibition 'Portraits from Rwanda' and photographer Maria Grazia Facciola's 'Hands,' a multimedia exhibition showcasing how hands shape people's lives including an excerpt on Ana Tzarev. All exhibitions will be on view through 3 February, 2010
