Pulitzer Prize Winning Authors Nicholas Kristoff and Sheryl WuDunn headlined a panel discussion and book signing at the Ana Tzarev Gallery on September 24th for their best-selling new book, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. The event was sponsored by Save the Children and moderated by Cokie Roberts, a leading journalist for ABC television network and Vice Chairman of Save the Children Board of Trustees. Other panelists included representatives from the Ford Foundation, the Nike Foundation and NoVo Foundation. Over 120 guests filled the Gallery at 8:00am to hear the discussion which centered on the positive outcome of addressing the brutality, discrimination and oppression against women in developing countries. The book is newly released and instantly became a bestseller, the authors are scheduled to be featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show in early October.
